FB Area Food Shelf

Welcome to the FB Area Food Shelf, a community-driven organization dedicated to providing nutritious food and wonderful essentials to individuals and families in need. We are committed to ensuring that no one in our community goes hungry or doesn't have essentials, offering a welcoming space where people can access food or necessities with dignity or respect. Whether you need assistance or wish to support our mission through donations or volunteer work, we are here to make a positive impact. We will be moving to the Northwest end of the Polk County Fairgrounds at the TDS Event Center! The plan is to move in there early summer of 2026! We are looking forward to serving the community in our new location! The new address is Polk Ave SE in Fertile, Minnesota!

Food Shelf is Open for Shopping

The 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month 2:30-6:00 pm the food shelf is open for clients to go shopping! Call for appointments at 218-945-3065.


TEFAP Application (The Emergency Food Assistance Program)

The application to apply to the FB Area Food Shelf is available on the resources page!


Fresh Produce

During summer (July-October) every 2nd Wednesday of each month.


Backpack Program

Bags are packed into backpacks on Fridays each week, If you want your family to participate please call the office and ask for the back pack coordinator. If interested in getting your child signed up for the backpack program, please contact the FB School for assistance with signing up for this service: 218-945-6933 ext:212 Amanda Bosman


Senior Boxes; CSFP (Commodity Supplement Food Program)

Every 2nd Wednesday of the month there are boxes for eligible seniors 60 and older available to the community. The application to apply is on the Resources Page.

Our Mission

  • To prevent the hunger of persons located in the communities in the Fertile-Beltrami area.

  • To provide food and personal items are needed to help alleviate hunger and poverty.

  • To acquire food, miscellaneous items and funds needed to operate a food pantry.

  • To operate a food pantry where all clients are treated with dignity and respect and where all clients are allowed a choice of food items they receive as available each month.
